Alma

Alma is the highest incorporated town in North America!
The population in Alma is about 300, with an estimated
1,000 residents in the area. This community is home to
bars, restaurants, a coffee shop, salon, general store,
retail stores, real estate offices, dispensaries, a
Post Office and Town Hall.
Historically Alma was a center for the local mining industry. With
continued development of residential subdivisions around Alma, the
area is predominately a bedroom community for several ski resorts in
Summit County.
Alma is filled with local flare and lots of community
fun! Each year the Alma Foundation hosts the Festival in
the Clouds, a local festival filled with non-stop music,
arts & crafts and yummy food & beverages.

Fairplay
9,957 feet above sea level. Founded in 1867.
Located at the intersection of Highway 285 and Highway 9, Fairplay
receives heavy through traffic, especially during the peak summer
tourist season and the winter ski season. As the incorporated seat
of Park County, Fairplay is the center of county government. About
700 people now reside within the Fairplay town limits. It is
estimated that about 2,000 more reside in outlying areas. Fairplay
businesses include hotels, a grocery store, restaurants, service
stations, bank, dentist, retail shops, real estate offices and other
small businesses. RE-2 District schools in Fairplay serve the entire
South Park region. Two medical clinics and a pharmacy provide
primary health services in town. The old Fairplay Town Hall now
serves as a public library at the corner of 6th and Front Streets.
Fairplay is host to the famous Burro Days, a local festival that
includes burro races, music and arts & crafts.
